For Immediate Release February 2, 2015
New York, New York – The popular Saturday fashion brunch
known as Runway the Real Way (RTRW) created and curated by former Ford Model and
plus size advocate, Catherine Schuller, has changed venues from the Dojo
Restaurant at the YOTEL HOTEL in Times Square to the restaurant PLAY within the
Museum of Sex located north of the Flatiron District in NYC. The fashion brunch has been host to hundreds
of designers, models, photographers and produced over 60 shows within the past
two years at the YOTEL. RTRW is a fashion show entity that produces fashion
shows based on diversity and innovative integration and features all sizes,
shapes, genders, heights, ethnicities, persuasions on what is called the
“inclusive catwalk.” The Runway is a
metaphor for life -- every day is a fashion show and the world is your
runway!” She goes on to say, “Inclusivity
is just good for business!”
With the YOTEL doing major restructuring and renovations beginning January 1, the RTRW brunch had to look elsewhere for a home. Marvin Coleman of Capital M Enterprises, LLC had seen the excitement around the brunch at the Yotel and invited Schuller to meet his friend Sasha K. who runs daily operations in PLAY and coordinates special events for The Museum of Sex. After visiting the fashion event at the YOTEL and meeting Catherine, he was inspired to invite the brunch brigade with its merry supporters of fans, models, designers, stylists, makeup and hair artists, not to mention a band of photographers and backstage denizens, to build out a new destination brunch spot at the laid back lair. “The PLAY den/space has a lot of potential and an undiscovered vibe” says Coleman. Together they have created a customized RTRW brunch format just for Play@MoSEX which will launch on Valentine’s weekend, Sunday February 15. This will be a tie-in to New York Fashion Week and will include a light brunch format based on serving small 'AppeTeasers,'
edible plated pleasures, that Seating for
Another
aspect of RTRW is Stylaga, a fashion social networking app, which features live
fashion show shopping right at the moment the clothing is on the runway that
day in real time. Stylaga’s Eugene Kay
lends an e-commerce immediacy and delivers cutting edge fashion tech savvy to
the ambiance. Stylaga creates a video of the event as well
for its YouTube channel and affords brunchers the luxury of purchasing the
clothing right then in real time -- “From Our Catwalk to Your Closet.” Designers
include Rufus Dixon, Fantasia Veneziana, Valerie Simoes Designs, Anna Lyndley, and
Sarah Bunn of Bunn Funn, tying in her creative couture canvases of Who’s Your
Hero collection celebrating Black History Month. Fifty
Shades of Fashion will feature men’s elegant bespoke wear from Designer DeDeAllure’s “Montage Manhattan” menswear line, just like Mr. Grey wears in the
movie, Fifty Shades of Grey premiering on V-day as well. Topping
it off, House of Roderick will donate exquisite jewelry to create the exact
accessory to complement the looks with his beautiful and quality designs. Love is in the air as there may even be some
surprise performances and audience participatory games for prizes and giveaways. Hubert’s Lemonade will be distributing
delicious lemonade in several flavors for patrons to sample. Straight or mixed with alcohol, it’s a great
sipping treat. Ecoco Inc. has a hair care blend product and will be passing out
goody bags to patrons during both brunches.
Sponsors are signing on daily. Key Hair and Makeup is provided by GothamBeauty Lounge in New York City. Sure to be a sell out, RSVPs are
required. Please call to reserve your
place at NYC’s hottest V-day brunch.
